Code Red tosin on julkaisemassa leffan kuluvan vuoden aikana kuten yleisesti hyvin tiedossa.

Mistä tällainen tieto? Koetin blu-ray.comista haeskella, mutta ei silmään osunut mitään puhetta The Slayerista.

The Slayer (US cut) on ollut Code Red'in hallussa jo pitkään. Bill on kuitenkin maininnut asiasta (viimeksi viime vuonna), että käytössä oleva materiaali olisi ilmeisen heikkotasoista, joten mahdollista Blu-ray-julkaisua tokkopa satavarmaksi voida sanoa – ainakaan ilman ajatusta massiivisesta filtteröinnistä. Samaa ajatusta voi soveltaa surutta moneen muuhunkin marginaalituotannon elokuvaan joita Code Red on julkaisukatalogiinsa vuosien saatossa haalinut.

The slayer taitaa olla tulossa Arrow:lta

^code redit tulevat valitettavan kalliiksi tänne pohjolan perukoille tilata. No, jos bill(huom tarkoituksella pieni alkukirjan) saa ulostettua Giallo In Venicen niin siitä maksettava $ koska Saksan julkaisut menivät molemmat ohi.

Itse löysin Giallo in Venicen vielä uutena itävaltalaisessa kaupasta ja tilaus tuli tänään. Rahaa toki paloi 60 e.

^ Hyh, mitä riistoa. Liekkö yhdestäkään Code Red ‑julkaisusta kärsinyt enempää kuin 25e.

WATCH ME WHEN I KILL

"Scheduled for general release in Q3, here is a sneak peak of the limited edition slipcase artwork and also some comparison grabs."

"Antonio Bido, the man who won understandable cult acclaim with his stylish stalker-thriller BLOODSTAINED SHADOW (1978), helmed one of the defining giallo shockers in 1977's nightmarish WATCH ME WHEN I KILL. For fans of yellow-peril, golden age, Italian black-gloved killer mayhem, it does not get any better than this suspenseful murder-mystery which follows an animalistic, knife-happy maniac as he cuts and drowns his victims to prohibit a historic secret emerging. Exactly why the dead bodies are piling up confuses the authorities – but the reasoning behind this sudden slash 'em up activity proves both jarring and jaggedly horrible. And look out for an appearance from legendary Italian genre veteran Paolo Malco (THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY/ THE NEW YORK RIPPER) and a sizzling soundtrack from art prog-rockers Trans-Europe Express!"

"Even seasoned giallo buffs are sure to embrace the many thrills and chills of WATCH ME WHEN I KILL, remastered in 4k by the Euro-gore embracing enthusiasts at 88 Films!"

^ Toki riistoa, mutta julkaisu kuitenkin X-rated Eurocult collection.

Neon Maniac 13.4.2017 23:36

Voi sen noinkin perustella. Kaikki on toki suhteellista. Harvoin jos koskaan mikään yhden elokuvan julkaisu on moisen euromäärän väärti, ainakaan allekirjoittaneelle.

The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA), in association with Something Weird Video, will release on Blu-ray Dusty Nelson's horror thriller Effects (1980), starring Joe Pilato, Tom Savini, Susan Chapek, John Harrison, and Debra Gordon. The release will be available for purchase on August 22.

Synopsis:

"Cobbled together with loose change by George Romero's friends, Effects is a mesmerizing D.I.Y. frightmare that no one talks about, but everyone should. A group of coked-up filmmakers -- including Tom 'Dawn of the Dead' Savini, Joe 'Day of the Dead' Pilato, and John 'Tales from the Darkside: The Movie' Harrison -- gather in Pittsburgh to make a slasher. As filming begins and accidents happen, it's clear that something isn't right. And no one can be trusted. Landing somewhere between Snuff and a student film by John Carpenter, Effects is a meta-enhanced takedown on the philosophy of horror that doubles as a sleazy and terrifying movie on its own."

After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2015, AGFA recently purchased a 4K film scanner to create new digital transfers of titles from the Something Weird library. AGFA will begin distributing their new transfers theatrically and on home video in the summer of 2017.

Effects is the second of the newly restored titles to transition to Blu-ray. (The first title is The Zodiac Killer, which has already been officially announced for Blu-ray release.)

Kino Lorber have confirmed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Clive Barker's film Rawhead Rex (1986), starring David Dukes, Kelly Piper, Hugh O'Conor, Niall O'Brien, and Donal McCann. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.

Synopsis:

"Rawhead Rex" is a demon, alive for millennia, trapped in the depths of hell, and waiting for release. He is held by an ancient seal, imprisoned for centuries in a barren field near the hamlet of Rathmore, Ireland. In time, this gruesome legacy has been forgotten, dismissed as an odd pre-Christian myth until Tom Garron decides to plow the field his ancestors knew better than to disturb. The seal is broken and an unspeakable evil is unleashed – on a rampage of blood and lust."

"Howard Hallenbeck, an American historian on a working vacation in Ireland, discovers on the stained glass windows of a local church a series of scenes illustrating the reign of terror of Rawhead Rex. But the one piece of glass depicting the defeat of the monster is missing. Howard is desperate for an answer – for Rawhead Rex is on the loose, and he is insatiable!"

Vihdoin ja viimein kuuluu edes jotain tästäkin. Tolkuttomiin venynyt julkaisuaikataulu. Kääntöpuolella oletettavasti myös leffan alkuperäinen kansikuva?

Lienee paikallaan muistuttaa, että Jungle holocaust tunnetaan Suomessa paremmin nimellä Last cannibal world ja elokuvasta on leikkaamaton suomi-DVD saatavilla. Myös leikattu Fix on olemassa.

^ Veikkaan, että elitisteistä useimmat (ellei kaikki) elokuvan tuntee. Kuten niin ikään mainitun matalamman resoluution julkaisun Noble Entertainment:lta, jolla tokkopa kukaan sinisädejulkaisuja vähääkään aktiivisemmin keräävä tee tuon päivityksen jälkeen yhtikäs mitään. Kasettitelevisokaudella omaan hyllyyni tiensä löysi leffan New Movie Video ‑julkaisu, joskin

Alpherat Collection ‑magneettinauha oli se ensimmäinen, jota muistan vuokraamossa hämmästelleeni syke koholla joskus 80-luvun alussa. Tuo "uskomattomin dokumentti joka koskaan on päästy kuvaamaan" ‑provo syöpyi lähtemättömästi mieleen kansikuvineen päivineen, aivan kuten oli tarkoitus.

Slasher Classics Number 30 is here!!!

"Never released uncut in the UK before – TOOLBOX MURDERS (1978) stars the legendary Cameron Mitchell (BLOOD AND BLACK LACE) as a balaclava-clad badman who stalks and splatters a number of nubile and frequently nude young ladies across a Hollywood apartment block. Included in the vixen-victims is the legendary adult star Kelly Nichols (ROOMMATES) who is turned into a human pin cushion by our unapologetically evil antagonist. Banned as a video nasty in the UK, TOOLBOX MURDERS would be remade by the legendary Tobe Hooper (THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE) in 2004, but nothing beats this original nightmare which, along with HALLOWEEN, heralded a new era of slice and dice madness in the late 1970s. Finally unleashed in HD by 88 Films in an all-new special edition, this gore gem is ready to drill and thrill you in a brilliant BluRay edition."
