Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release an Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray of Brad Bird's The Iron Giant. The release will be available for purchase on September 6.

Official synopsis:

"When "The Iron Giant" arrived in theaters in 1999, it was hailed as an "instant classic" by Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal, and the world soon learned another giant had arrived as well: filmmaker Brad Bird, who made his stunning directorial debut with this film and has gone on to win two Oscars, as well as worldwide acclaim for his work on both animated and live-action features. Winner of nine Annie Awards, "The Iron Giant" has been re-mastered and enhanced with two all-new scenes."

"The film takes place in October of 1957, when America had plenty to be worried about. Rock 'n' roll. Television. The bomb. And on the fourth day of that month, the Soviets successfully launched the first manmade satellite, Sputnik, into orbit. The space race had officially begun. The Cold War just got colder. People were unsure about their neighbors, even questioning their friends."

"In the small town of Rockwell, Maine, Annie Hughes (voice of Jennifer Aniston) is just worried about putting supper on the table for herself and her nine-year-old son, Hogarth (voice of Eli Marienthal). A single mother holding down a job at the local diner, Annie has her hands full with Hogarth-headstrong and imaginative, always on the lookout for the latest attempted takeover by mutant aliens or subversive invaders."

"So when a local fisherman comes into the diner with a tall tale about a huge metal man falling into the sea, the only one to pay him much attention is Hogarth, who sets out exploring to find the enormous robot. What he does find is a 50-foot giant with an insatiable appetite for metal and a childlike curiosity about its new world."

"Rumors of everything from an alien invasion to a Russian secret weapon bent on destroying Rockwell soon spread through the small town, prompting the arrival of government agent Kent Mansley (voiced by Christopher McDonald). Keeping one step ahead of Mansley, Hogarth convinces his beatnik friend Dean (voiced by Harry Connick, Jr.) to hide the Iron Giant (voiced by Vin Diesel) in Dean's junkyard."

"But it isn't long before the rumors turn into paranoia-the situation escalates and the possible destruction of Rockwell looms. Hogarth turns to his friend, the Iron Giant, who ultimately finds its humanity by unselfishly saving the town's residents from their own fears and prejudices. In times like these, you really find out what your friends are made ofsometimes, it's even metal."

Arrow Video

UK fans the long wait is FINALLY over... The Burning is coming to Arrow Video!

"GATHER AROUND THE CAMPFIRE TO DIE!"

"1981 was a bumper year for the slasher genre, with films such as My Bloody Valentine, Halloween II and The Funhouse all slicing their way through the box office. But of all the stalk-and-slash films released that year, few remain as gruesomely effective as The Burning."

"An ill-judged prank at a summer camp results in a fire that leaves caretaker Cropsy hideously disfigured. Discharged from an intensive care unit after five years, hospital officials warn him not to blame the young campers who put him there. But no sooner is he back on the streets than hes headed back to camp with a rusty pair of shears in hand, determined to exact his bloody revenge."

"One of the more notorious of the video nasties to be banned in Britain thanks to its standout gore effects courtesy of FX legend Tom Savini, The Burning is also notable for early performances by Academy Award-winner Holly Hunter and Seinfelds Jason Alexander, as well as a standout synth score from Rick Wakeman. Long absent from UK home video shelves, The Burning is finally back to reclaim its status as the ultimate summer camp slasher movie."

"If you ever wanted to feel the screen burning with heat you could do a lot worse than the rollicking Cannon Films romp SAHARA!Set in 1927 and starring the international sex symbol Brooke Shields (THE BLUE LAGOON), SAHARA was a notorious flop for Golan and Globus, the bombastic barons behind Cannon, but has since gained a cult audience who appreciate its jetsetting locale and bizarre story of a woman disguising herself as a man to compete in a hair raising car racing contest. With more peddle to the metal, edge of the seat madness than anyone could possibly ask for, SAHARA is finally back ‑in glorious HD- for a bran new audience to cheer to the finish line."

"Overwhelmed by the response for an far eastern collection of horror and martial arts we started planning our Bollywood and Sex Comedy Collections. Unfortunately these fell through at the last minute, so instead......88 Films is proud to announce the launch of our latest collection – 88 Asia!"

"Before RING, before DARK WATER, before SHUTTER there was HEXAsian horror cinema was already hitting strikes by the time the1980s dawned and nowhere was more ahead of the curve than the then-British colony of Hong Kong. The city of neon lights and vibrant street life was no stranger to scary movies and HEX was perhaps the island's crowning achievement. Released in 1980, and emerging from the legendary Shaw Bros Studios, whose knack for colourful landscapes and misty atmosphere remains legendary, HEX tells a weird and wonderful story of witchcraft and wanton revenge!"

"Directed by the late, great Kuei Chih-Hung, whose output also includes the frequently censored "nasty" THE KILLER SNAKES (1974), this formidable Eastern frightener has an abused woman caught in a strange mystery of manslaughter and macabre happenings. To say anything else would be to spoil one of the Orient's most influential terror titles, but rest assured that HEX has a few spooky surprises up its sleeve."

"Now gaining its worldwide HD debut from 88 Films, HEX may just be the greatest ghost story you have never seen!"

Satans Blade (Arrow Video) Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD

An eerie slice of US regional terror ripe for rediscovery!

Release Date: 11th July 2016

Region: Free

"AN UNHOLY TALISMAN OF MURDER AND MADNESS"

"One of the lesser known entries in the annals of the 80s slasher film, Satans Blade is an eerie slice of US regional terror ripe for rediscovery by horror fans."

"Arriving at a snow-capped mountain resort, a group of youngsters are met by the news that a double-murder has taken place there the previous night. Despite this grisly revelation, they decide to stay on, unaware of the knife-wielding figure stalking the wintry landscape... Could the local legend of an ungodly mountain man with a grudge against outsiders have some truth in it?"

"Shot in Big Bear, California in 1980 but not released until 1984, L. Scott Castillo, Jr.s Satans Blade overcomes the limitations of its shoestring budget with a game cast and all-pervasive, creepy atmosphere – key to which is a freakish nightmare sequence thats sure to inspire more than a few sleepless nights."

Maybe the most outrageous film Ken Russell ever made!

US Release Date: 12th July 2016

Region: A+B / 1+2

"SHE IS WATCHED. SHE IS WORSHIPPED. AND SHE MUST REMAIN A MYSTERY."

"In the early eighties British enfant terrible Ken Russell travelled to America and placed his unorthodox imprint on a pair of US movies. The first was the Altered States, so out-there its screenwriter disowned it. The second was the equally crazy Crimes of Passion, starring Kathleen Turner (Body Heat, Serial Mom) at the height of her powers."

"Fashion designer Joanna Crane (Turner) leads a double life. By night she is China Blue, a prostitute whos attracted the unwanted attention of two men. One is a sexually frustrated private detective hired by her employees. The other is psychopathic priest (played by Norman Bates himself, Anthony Perkins) in possession of a murderous sex toy. With its outré screenplay by Barry Sandler and over the top score by Rick Wakeman, Crimes of Passion may just be the most outrageous Ken Russell film ever made and thats quite some feat!"

Female Prisoner Scorpion Collection (Arrow Video) Dual-Format Blu-ray and DVD

The pinnacle of early 1970s exploitation cinema from Japanese grindhouse studio Toei

UK Release Date: 25th July 2016

US Release Date: 26th July 2016

Region: A+B / 1+2

"Starring the iconic and beautiful Meiko Kaji (Lady Snowblood, Stray Cat Rock) in a role that came to define her career, the four-film Female Prisoner Scorpion series charts the vengeance of Nami Matsushima, who assumes the mantle of "Scorpion," becoming an avatar of vengeance and survival, and an unlikely symbol of female resistance in a male-dominated world."

"Female Prisoner #701: Scorpion introduces Nami, a gullible young woman unjustly imprisoned, who must find a way to escape in order to exact revenge upon the man who betrayed her. The visually avant-garde Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 sees director Shunya Ito and star Meiko Kaji re-unite as Nami and six other female convicts escape prison once more. The Gothic horror-inspired Beast Stable finds Nami branded public enemy #1 and on the run. She soon finds refuge with a sympathetic prostitute, but runs afoul of a local gang. The final film in the series, #701's Grudge Song (from director Yasuharu Hasebe, Retaliation, Massacre Gun), shows a gentler side of Nami as she falls in with Kudo, an ex-radical suffering from physical and psychological trauma caused by police torture.Spiritual kin to Ms. 45, Coffy and The Bride Wore Black, the Female Prisoner Scorpion is the pinnacle of early 1970s exploitation cinema from Japanese grindhouse studio Toei, and one of the greatest female revenge sagas ever told."

^ Teatteriversio 1h47m, josta sensuroitu jenkkijulkaisu 7min lyhyempi. Ohjaajan versio (uncut euro versio) 1h52m. Futuren China Blue – Intohimorikoksia nimellä '09 julkaisema, kuvanlaadultaan suht kelvollinen devari sisältää MGM/UA:n leikkaamattoman ohjaajan version lisäksi tulevaa sinisädejulkaisua provokaatisemman kansitaiteen (+ slippari) sekä luonnollisesti suomenkielisen tekstityksen. Jotain liiketoistossa esiintyvää nykimistä muistelen omassa kappaleessani ilmenneen, jonka voisikin tarkistaa paremmalla ajalla. AWE:lta löytyy lisäksi Russelin Huora, mikä teknisiltä puitteiltaan ei aivan yllä chinan tasolle, vaikka neliökuvarajaus onkin.

"Hong Kong's ever-evolving film industry was beginning to drift away from period-set kung fu craziness by the time FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS appeared in 1982. However, just before the dawn of POLICE STORY – and sundry heroic bloodshed blockbusters – director Chang Cheh showed that there was plenty of life left in straightforward wuxia chopsocky mayhem! Indeed, leave it to the Shaw Brothers studio to offer up a story as spirited as this one – with a young martial artist pitting his wits against a gang of well-disguised, sneaky and unthinkably sadistic masked men versed in Japanese combat techniques."

"Drawing on the age old tension between The Land of the Rising Sun and China – which famously led to colonialism and conflict before and during World War 2 – FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS, which was released in America under the culturally confused moniker CHINESE SUPER NINJAS, is a riotious rollercoaster ride of spilled blood, bludgeoned skulls and seductive, but deadly, Far Eastern femmes.Starring the mighty Cheng Tien-Chi – also of Jackie Chan's FEARLESS HYENA (1979) – FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS is one of the crowning achievements from the great career of legendary director Chang Cheh (THE ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN/ THE BRAVE ARCHER). Rediscover this carnage-packed classic on Blu-ray courtesy of 88 Films!"

"DEMONS director Lamberto Bava continued to craft a few high profile plasma-spillers even after the golden age of Italian gore had passed. And 1992's BODY PUZZLE is a prime example of the maestro's macabre excellence – a giallo gem which is long overdue some serious reappraisal from fans of Euro-horror excess. In this mind-mangling mystery an attractive young widow (played by the prolific B-movie babe Joanna Pacula) becomes inadvertently caught up in a killer's sick scheme – with the mysterious murderer leaving lopped off limbs at her doorstep and taunting her from afar. Featuring a supporting cast that includes the ever-iconic Giovanni Lombardo Radice (CANNIBAL FEROX/ CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD) BODY PUZZLE would be Bava's giallo swansong and there is little doubting that the legendary filmmaker went out with a big bloody bang! Arguably even more twisted than A BLADE IN THE DARK, and with a plot barmier than his classic DEMONS, 88 Films is proud to present BODY PUZZLE uncut and in HD."

"The legendary screen icon Pam Grier (COFFY) rounded off her classic era of Blaxploitation blockbusters with 1975's FRIDAY FOSTER. In this colourful classic from acclaimed B-movie director Arthur Marks (BONNIE'S KIDS/ DETROIT 9000), the ever-sexy Grier plays a magazine photographer who accidentally witnesses an assassination attempt. Stalked across town by a criminal cult, it is up to the genre's biggest star, and future JACKIE BROWN performer, to stay one step ahead of her antagonists. Also starring the great Carl Weathers (ROCKY/ ACTION JACKSON), Yaphet Kotto (LIVE AND LET DIE/ ALIEN) and chart sensation Eartha Kitt, FRIDAY FOSTER deserves a prominent placement in any collection of soul-cinema staples. Revisit FRIDAY FOSTER and remind yourself of why Grier retains her place as one of Hollywood's most feminine, and feminist, screen sirens!"

"Rewind back to the cinema of the 1980s and you might discover at least fun fact about an otherwise conservative decade: Hollywood was a lot less ageist! Indeed, in an action genre dominated by Arnold, Chuck and Sly, at least one big name looked as if he was more likely to be collecting his pension than provoking mayhem and that man was the late, great Charles Bronson. The star of DEATH WISH never slowed down, even as the decade came to a close, and 1988's fierce Cannon Films classic MESSENGER OF DEATH is one of the legendary genre star's most menacing motion pictures. In this fast-paced and potent thriller, Bronson plays an investigative journalist who prods a little too deeply into the affairs of a local, and lunatic, religious organisation. Bullets, blood and a slew of dead bodies soon follow. Mixing Mormonism and malevolence with the sort of high-octane brutality one might expect from director J. Lee Thompson (CAPE FEAR/ DEATH WISH IV: THE CRACKDOWN), MESSENGER OF DEATH is back in HD – and ready to blast its way into your Cannon collection!"

"God bless the late, and dearly missed, Joe D'Amato (Aristide Massaccesi). Not only did the censor-baiting Svengali of sleaze give us such video nasty masterpieces as ABSURD (1981) and ANTHROPOPHAGOUS (1980), as well as the sexploitation classic ELEVEN DAYS, ELEVEN NIGHTS (1987), he also unleashed one of Euro-horror's grisliest gore-fests in 1979's frequently-censored BEYOND THE DARKNESS! Focusing on a PSYCHO-style story of a young loner, under the authority of a besotted but blood-thirsty matriarch, who enjoys bouts of human taxidermy, bodily mutilation and cannibalism – this crimson-ridden splatter caper might just be D'Amato's crowning achievement. Starring the legendary Cinzea Monreale (THE BEYOND) as a beautiful blonde who is lured into the killer's premises, BEYOND THE DARKNESS also features a sublime score from prog-rockers Goblin (TENEBRAE) and a sick, but nonetheless satisfying, sense of humour. Also known as BURIED ALIVE, this D'Amato classic is finally making its UK HD premiere – uncut and uncensored!"

"This Summer stay out of the showers! Norman Bates is back in PSYCHO IV, which is headed to the Blu-ray format on August 23rd."

"A seemingly rehabilitated Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) is drawn to a late night radio show where the host (CCH Pounder) encourages him to share his views on the topic of matricide. Reliving his childhood, Norman recounts his trials of a young boy (Henry Thomas) living with his widowed schizophrenic mother (Olivia Hussey). These haunting memories are more than just disturbing visions of the past; they threaten to rekindle his killing urge in this spine-tingling thriller directed by Mick Garris (The Stand, Masters of Horror)."

Barillis psychological investigation into the workings of the mind becomes apparent when it is revealed that as a child, Sylvia committed a horrible crime. 88 Films have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Sergio Martino's cult film 2019: After the Fall of New York (1983), starring Michael Sopkiw, Valentine Monnier, Anna Kanakis, Romano Puppo, and Paolo Maria Scalondro. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.

Synopsis:

"After the nuclear holocaust, society breaks down into two groups, the evil Euraks and the rebel Federation. A mercenary named Parsifal (Sopkiw) is hired by the Federation to infiltrate New York City and rescue the only fertile woman left on Earth. But with all the obstacles ahead, he will need to count on Big Ape (Eastman), and the mysterious Ratchet (Puppo) to accomplish the mission, and save the human race from extinction."

After an endless wait, Sergio Martino's seminal, post-apocalyptic classic comes home, digitally restored and presented in its original scope aspect ratio for the first time ever. Starring Michael Sopkiw (Blastfighter), George Eastman (Anthropophagous), Al Yamanouchi (Endgame), and Romano Puppo (Escape from the Bronx), and benefiting from an amazing synth score by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis (Oliver Onions), revel in what is often considered a neglected genre, the post nuke film. From the explosions & the Rat King to the cardboard cutout New York skyline, sit back and don't jaw with anyone who won't identify themselves.
