*In speaking to the process of creating the Legion Director’s cut, Blu-ray producer Cliff MacMillan explains further as to the journey to get there and the outcome. “We conducted an exhaustive search through a pallet of film assets from the original shoot to re-create William Peter Blatty’s intended vision. Unfortunately, that footage has been lost to time. To that end, we turned to VHS tapes of the film’s dailies to assemble the director’s cut. However, even some of that footage was incomplete, so scenes from the theatrical re-shoot were used to fill in the gaps. This director’s cut is a composite of varying footage quality from the best available sources.”

Jotenkin toivoin, että alkuperäiset negatiivit olisi löydetty. Ilmeisesti ovat hävinneet/hävitetty

ikuisiksi ajoiksi? Muuten julkaisu näyttää hyvältä ekstrojen suhteen ja kyllähän tuo Director`s Cut kiinnostaa laadusta riippumatta.

Tuo 'lost to time'-ilmaisu kuulostaa lähinnä siltä että filmi olisi ajan saatossa mennyt siihen pisteeseen ettei siitä ole enää julkaistavaksi, tai ainakin näin itse käsitin kun ovat VHS:ien puoleen kääntyneet? En toki mene takuuseen, mutta ainakin muistaakseni kuuluttivat juuri melko hiljattain noiden alkuperäisten negatiivien löytyneen. En tiedä oliko Blattylla tuostakin useampi eri versio valmiina, kuten The Ninth Configurationista.

Hei, Shout F:t ainakin dvd-kaudella vaihteli. Voisko jälleen pyytää tolkullista ensiostajaa tarkistamaan ja laittamaan sitten muille infoa? Tää just vituttaa, kun on liuta ostavia osapuolia, eikä kukaan valista muita.

Kannatan!

Neon Maniac 14.9.2016 17:31

Tiettyjen julkaisujen poisrajaaminen viestiketjusta määrätyn aluekoodin perusteella olkoot jatkossakin itse kunkin kontolla.

When a prominent politician and a beautiful young woman vanish inside a London subway station, Scotland Yard's Inspector Calhoun (Pleasence) investigates and makes a horrifying discovery. Not only did a group of 19th-century tunnel workers survive a cave-in, but they lived for years in a secret underground enclave by consuming the flesh of their own dead. Now the lone descendant of this grisly tribe has surfaced, prowling the streets of London for fresh victims...and a new mate."

The Blob – 2 Disc Collector's Edition Exclusive To JB Hi-Fi!

Includes:

The Blob (1958)

The Blob (1988)

Son Of Blob (1972 – SD Only)

The Blob (1958) "An innovative blend of '50s schlock sci-fi paranoia and good old fashioned teen delinquency shapes The Blob into a cult classic experience of mass proportions!"

"Moulding the genre with chills and thrills, director Irvin S. Yeaworth (Dinosaurus!) places a troup of troubled teenagers into the middle of mayhem when a mysterious creature from another planet lands in their small township and spreads itself across the landscape in a gelatinous state of lingering menace. Determined to warn the public of impending doom, young Steve Andrews (action hero Steve McQueen in his first starring role) charges his classic Plymouth Cranbrook convertible into action and rises to the impossible blood-curdling challenge."

The Blob (1988) "In a tiny California town, high school students Brian (Kevin Dillon, Entourage), Meg (Shawnee Smith, SAW) and Paul (Donovan Leitch Jr, Glory) discover an unusual gelatinous substance with the ability to remove flesh off any living creatures in its path. The deadly blob-like matter infiltrates the town's sewer system and continues to grow exponentially, threatening the lives of unsuspecting townspeople.A grisly and inspired remake of the 1958 Steve McQueen B-Movie classic, with an acute angle on horror, The Blob is directed by Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3) and adapted by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption)."

Son of Blob (1972) "A technician brings a frozen specimen of the original Blob back from the North Pole. When his wife accidentally defrosts the thing, it terrorizes the populace, including the local hippies, kittens, and bowlers."
