"A year before the slasher boom really hit its stride with John Carpenter's legendary trendsetter HALLOWEEN, there was DRIVE-IN MASSACRE – an early slice and dice prototype that is finally achieving its rightful reappraisal courtesy of a brand new 2k scan from the splatter movie addicts at 88 Films! This worldwide HD debut indicates that DRIVE-IN MASSACRE was, in many ways, ahead of its time – spinning a sleazy story about a clueless police investigation into a madman who is carving up spectators at outdoor cinemas across California! Introducing the sort of giallo framework that the post-FRIDAY THE 13th teenkill genre would later take as its own, DRIVE-IN MASSACRE was directed with the expert grindhouse touch of Stu Segall, the man who oversaw Marilyn Chambers in INSATIABLE (1980) before producing such hit TV series as RENEGADE. A lively and lacerating bout of lunatic slasher energy, 88 Films is proud to give DRIVE-IN MASSACRE its worldwide BluRay bow in a new transfer approved by Segall himself!"

Mahtaako olla samanlainen julkaisu kuin esim. Pray for Death, poistetut kohtaukset lisätty jostakin teatteri printistä jo olevaan blu-ray julkaisuun?
vai oli Pray for Death julkaisu tuommoinen...no sitte jää kyllä hankkimatta :( ( pitää tyytyä edelleen näköjään kreikka VHS:ään ) ja sama pätee Death Wish 2 eli kreikka kassu pysyy hyllyssä.
Koch Media ‑julkaisun unrated versioon ranskalaisesta printistä saumattomasti liitetyt leikkaamattomat kohtaukset, on yleissävyltään MGM-masteria aavistuksen tummempia, mutta muutoin lähdemateriaalin laatu ylitti kaikki odotukset.

Syy tähän on itse lähdemateriaalissa. Ainoa oikea unrated versio toki on olemassa, ja löytyy vuosia sitten loppuunmyydystä Itä-Valtalaisen XT:n bootleg-dvd:stä. Blu-ray ‑julkaisun lyömätön etu, extrojen lisäksi, on helvetin laadukas dvd:lle painettu workprint, joka saatiin ohjaajalta itseltään hänen omasta beta-nauhastaan, mikä on julmetun moinen parannus taannoisiin bootlegeihin. Edes koko elokuvan keston ajan esillä oleva tekstibanneri ala-laidassa ei haitannut. Lisäksi wp on oar, joskin ei-anamorfinen. Yhdyn täysin yllämainittuihin seikkoihin. Pray for Death oli kokonaisuutena ERITTÄIN laadukas leikkaamaton julkaisu.

Synapse Films 8.12.2015
"Leni Riefenstahl's classic piece of historical filmmaking, filmed during the 1934 Nazi Party Rally in Nuremberg, Germany, is considered by many to be one of the most important films ever made."
"Realized by Paul Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, this film was created to influence all of Germany to support the power of the Nazi Party."
"Historically significant and, at times, a horrifyingly manipulative exercise in propaganda for the Nazi regime, TRIUMPH OF THE WILL continues to be controversial eighty years after its original release and has been banned in Germany for many decades. Until her death in 2003, Riefenstahl was under fire for her personal relationship with Adolph Hitler, spending her life haunted by the shadow of the Nazi Party."
"This all-new remastered version of Triumph of the Will is derived from a new 2K scan, digitally corrected and restored under the supervision of film historian and preservationist, Robert A. Harris."
Special Features:
All-new 2015 high-definition 2K remaster of TRIUMPH OF THE WILL from a duplicate 35mm fine grain master
Original German language with all-new on screen identifications and newly translated removable English subtitles for the speeches
Leni Riefenstahl's short film DAY OF FREEDOM (Remastered in 2K HD)
Audio Commentary by Dr. Anthony R. Santoro (Specialist on National Socialist German history)
Liner Notes

"The documentary Stalingrad was made more than 10 years ago and shows the battle for the city from both the German and Russian perspectives. On German television, it was shown both as a 3-part and a 2-part airing by co-producing TV channel ZDF."
"But obviously, the 3 episodes weren't uncut there. When aired on German TV, they each had a runtime of 45 minutes and ended up on DVD that same way. Judging from the US Blu-ray by Synapse Films, the episodes will be considerably longer (between 54 – 56 minutes each). They are explicitly described as "uncut" and as being longer than when aired on TV (probably meaning US TV)."
"So, taking PAL speedup into account, we're most likely looking at an additional runtime of approx. 20 minutes of new material that is – at least – missing in the German versions."
Special Features:
High-definition presentation of the original three-part 2003 mini-series
English language dubbed version featuring footage not seen in the original broadcast
Deleted interview segments
Video interview with Dr. Guido Knopp (Professor and Historian)
Stalingrad Today Views of the City of Volgograd
The Blu-ray hits the US on December 8th, 2015.

"The British Film Institute has detailed the upcoming Pasolini: Six Films 1968-1975 Blu-ray box set. The release will be available for purchase on October 26.
Content: Theorem, Medea, The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales, Arabian Nights, Salò, or The 120 Days of Sodom
"Brutal and uncompromising, the films of controversial director Pier Paolo Pasolini have shocked and outraged audiences for decades, and their power remains undiminished to this day. Now presented together for the first time, in a Blu-ray box set released by the BFI on 2 November 2015, these six films stand as a testimony to his unique and untameable talents."
"In Theorem, a youthful Terence Stamp seduces each member of a bourgeois family. Medea features opera legend Maria Callas in a dark tale of betrayal and revenge. The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales and Arabian Nights form the bawdy 'Trilogy of Life', all with scores by the legendary Ennio Morricone. And Pasolini's final, shocking film, Salò, or The 120 Days of Sodom, sees him pushing his art to extremes."
Special Features:

THE HOUSE WHERE EVIL DWELLS & GHOST WARRIOR Double Feature
THE HOUSE WHERE EVIL DWELLS (1982) "A century ago, a samurai brutally murdered his adulterous wife and her lover before taking his own life. Now, the Fletcher family has found what they think is their perfect Japanese home not knowing it's the same house where the murders occurred. But as strange events escalate and the ghosts of the dead begin to toy with the living, the Fletchers discover they've become unwitting players in a horrible reenactment... one which they may not survive! Stars Edward Albert (Galaxy Of Terror), Susan George (Straw Dogs) and Doug McClure (Humanoids From The Deep) and is directed by Kevin Connor (Motel Hell)."
– GHOST WARRIOR (aka Swordkill) (1984) "While exploring a cave, two skiers find the body of a 400-year-old samurai warrior entombed in ice. He is brought to the United States in a hush-hush operation and revived through cryosurgery. Unfortunately, he is then forced to battle for his freedom, dignity and life. This Charles Band production stars Janet Julian (King Of New York, Humongous)."

SONNY BOY (1989) "Weve released some pretty out there cult films (e.g. Ninja III, White of the Eye, The Island, Gun Woman, to name more than a few) but wait till you get a load of this one..."
"In a remote desert town, a psychopathic petty crook (Smith) and his transvestite girlfriend (Carradine) kidnap and raise an orphaned infant, cage it like an animal and train it to steal and kill on their command. Years later, when the half-wild Sonny Boy escapes and embarks on a bloody rampage, the couple's monstrous attempt at "child development" provokes the local populace into vengeful retaliation. A shattering, unforgettable performance from David Carradine (Kill Bill) powers this wickedly off-beat tale of family love gone berserk. Paul L. Smith (Midnight Express, Pieces) and Brad Dourif (Childs Play, The Exorcist III) are also featured in powerfully moving supporting roles."
