Näyttääpä todella ankealta toiminnan osalta: potkuissa ei mitään voimaa ja vastustajat keskittyvät ottamaan niitä vastaan sen sijaan että edes teeskentelisivät yrittävänsä torjua iskuja. Tyttö tosin on ihan nätti.

Näyttääpä todella ankealta toiminnan osalta: potkuissa ei mitään voimaa ja vastustajat keskittyvät ottamaan niitä vastaan sen sijaan että edes teeskentelisivät yrittävänsä torjua iskuja. Tyttö tosin on ihan nätti.

Heh, ton porukan pitäisi esimerkiksi katsoa Cynthia Rothrockin (ja kumppaneiden) haastattelu Millionaire's Expressin devarilta ja miettiä sitten toimintakohtausten toteutusta uudestaan. Ei tosiaan mitään klassikkomatskun ainesta mut ihan jees oloista kuitenkin.

Tämähän näyttää yllättävän old schoolilta. Tai oikeastaan early 90's schoolilta. Mielenkiintoista.

Space Battleship Yamato (2010)

Yamato nyt ei erityisemmin itseäni kiinnosta, mutta toisaalta en tunnekaan pohjana ollutta 70-luvun animea. Japanissa leffa on kerännyt hyvin katsojia ja juurikin kolme-neljäkymppisiä, teinit ovat olleet teatterissa vähemmistönä.

Vastaavanlaisia Live Actioneja on tullut katsottua ennenkin ja usein ihmetyttää lopputuloksien tietynlainen vaivattomuus. Kotikatsomossa hymyä, mutta ilman facepalmia.

Ehkä omaa harhakuvitelmaa, mutta jos esimerkiksi jenkit tekisivät vastaavan niin lopputuloksena olisi todennäköisesti vaivaannuttavaa pönötystä. Ranskalaiset ehkä...saisivat koittaa herättää eloon vaikkapa Valerianin.

Heaven's Story. Vaikuttaa kovin mielenkiintoiselta.

Killer gets green light for 3-D remake

South Korea's Jung Woo-sung (정우성) will star in a 3-D English-language remake of iconic Hong Kong film The Killer (喋血雙雄).



The new film is to be directed by Korea's John H Lee (이재한) and produced by Lion Rock Productions (獅子山製作有限公司), the company controlled by Terence Chang and John Woo (吳宇森), director of the 1989 original film.



International rights are handled by Los Angeles firm Essential Entertainment, which will open up sales at Berlin's European Film Market later this month.



The picture is now in pre-production and will be a contemporary retelling of the story in which an elite Asian assassin risks everything to protect a beautiful singer that he unintentionally blinded. But he can only do so with the help of an LAPD detective who is trying to catch him.



Chang has been seeking for many years to prepare a remake of the film with Lee as director. In 2007 he was quoted as saying that the remake will use the streets of Los Angeles to take the action further than the original film.



"While all my films are special to me, The Killer is truly one of my favourites. We are thrilled to reinvent it as an English-language film and know it's in capable hands by the incredible visual style and tender emotion John H. Lee brings to all his films," Woo said in a prepared statement.



Jung, who previously starred in The Good, The Bad The Weird (좋은 놈, 나쁜 놈, 이상한 놈) was last seen as another killer in Reign of Assassins (劍雨), which Woo co-directed and Lion Rock produced.



The original Killer (pictured) was a turning point in the careers of Woo, star Chow Yun-fat (周潤發) and producer Tsui Hark (徐克) at Film Workshop (電影工作室有限公司).



Lee previously directed A Moment To Remember (내 머리 속의 지우개) and last year's Korean War film 71 – Into The Fire (포화 속으로).

2000-luvun alun mielenkiintoisin, mutta sittemmin tylsistynyt ohjaaja Ryuichi Hiroki vaikuttaa yrittävän comebackia Keibetsulla. Erittäin lupaavalta näyttää kunhan Ann-chanin muodonmuutoksen aiheuttamasta ensishokista selvisi!

Today sees the release of 3-D

Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy (3D肉蒲團之極樂寶鑑) in Taiwan and Hong Kong, where a $3 million indie film is treated like a major studio release.



Distributor for hire, Newport Entertainment (新寶娛樂有限公司) has secured 246 screenings in Hong Kong on opening day, with several multiplexes programming it on multiple screens. Of the major complexes, only the territory's biggest cinema, The Grand Cinema in Kowloon, is not showing the film.



More enterprising outfits have decided to embrace the film and its novelty value. The UA cinema chain is putting on women-only sessions at one venue in Hong Kong Island and another in Kowloon's Mongkok district. Many shows were sold out days ago or are selling front-row seats only.



Tour groups from mainland China, where the film is not scheduled to be screened, are also expected to deliver a cross-border audience that has not been seen since Ang Lee's (李安) Lust, Caution (色,戒).



While Newport does not quite have the field to itself, there are no Hollywood studio movies launching against Ecstasy this week. The highest profile competing release is horror franchise Scream 4. Other new openers include South Korean torture porn thriller I Saw The Devil (악마를 보았다, which like Ecstasy carries a Category III rating) and Franco-Australian metaphorical drama The Tree.



The Cantonese-language Ecstasy is a 3-D revival by producer and screenwriter Stephen Shiu Jnr (蕭若元) of his father's 1991 film Sex And Zen (玉蒲團之偷情寶鑑). Based on a 17th century novel The Carnal Prayer Mat, it tells the story of a young man who befriends a duke and enters a world of royal orgies and other sexual peccadilloes. The film features Japanese porn stars Hara Saori (原紗央莉) and Suo Yukiko (周防ゆきこ) and a local actress, Vonnie Liu (雷凱欣).



Ecstasy has been arousing Hong Kong audiences for several weeks. When advanced preview tickets went on sale in March, eager spectators camped out overnight in Wanchai district. Before that a teaser campaign during Chinese New Year was removed from holiday hotspot Victoria Park, but not before tens of thousands of people were warmed by the anticipation of the big-screen voyeurism.



Although Hong Kong regularly tops lists of sexually conservative territories in Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, where it is handled by Long Shong (龍祥), will be showing Ecstasy in its full version. Singapore censors demanded the removal of 18 minutes, due not only to the explicitness of the sex, but also because the film depicts monks in sexual activity. The version to be shown in South Korea through Hwa & Dam Entertainment (화앤담이엔티) will be 3 minutes shorter than the Hong Kong cut, having had an orgy scene removed.



Shui says the sexual content is pitched somewhere stronger than soft-core movies, but not as extreme as Caligula. Although the latter did not have the eye-popping extra dimension that comes with 3-D.



It remains to be seen what audiences make of it all. Early reviews described Ecstasy as a film of two halves, with a soft-core beginning turning altogether darker and nastier. The second half features rapes, sado-masochism and a death in the saddle.
