You see not just the movie, but all the low-class everythingness that the movie REFLECTS. Beneath the thin veil of the plot the director's neuroses and all-too-human quirks are BLATANTLY OBVIOUS. Thus badfilm serves us on many levels at once – but levels so widely separated that the prolonged viewing of badfilm (or older badshows from TV) actually causes the brain to DISCONNECT, to split into at least two or three separate entities, all of which in the long run serve to FREE US from the stinking MEDIOCRETY of the workaday world, TRANSPORTING US ito a dreamlike universe of SHEER UNCONTAMINATED TECHNOFEAR so GAUDY as to actually go BEYOND ART and off into the realms of myth and religion.
